As you begin to feel a connection with them, let them know at any time they can go to your higher sacred self and receive full liberation. Your Divine is waiting for them to come to liberate them fully into the light. Now you sit in front of them. Right next to your Divine. Ask them to come to you if they are upset in any way; Tell your mother, father, and grandparents to please forgive you if there is anything you have done to hurt them and let them know that without them, you would not be able to be here in this particular lifetime to have this experience of awakening. Now see the room full of all your ancestors. Do the same thing again. Let them know at any time they can go forward to the feet of your Divine and receive complete liberation. Ask them to come forward if they are upset with you. It is not your job or your fault. We can't make other people change. What we can do is learn to provide an environment that lets them be less reactive to what we're doing (such as yelling or judging) and more concerned with their own behavior and its consequences. You can't make someone want to change, but you can help him realize that he wants to change, and help reduce his need to defend his current behavior, which can get him stuck there. You'll be in a position to do this if you stay connected. You won't if you detach. Good News: No matter how stuck things seem to be, motivation can change. You don't have to be a therapist to encourage your loved one's motivation in a positive direction. The Things That Can Change Motivation In practical terms, how can you positively impact another person's motivation to change?
Most of all, it will change your attitude as well. The more you keep doing these small acts, the more positive your mindset will become and soon it will become habit. Now it is your turn. Decide on a day to start and keep on doing it for at least one month, irrespective of any negative reaction you might experience. After a month determine how the attitude of people you interacted with has changed towards you, as well as how your own attitude progressed. By this time you should have an excellent serving attitude every day. Believe me, in the process you will experience interesting, heartwarming moments and comments and have lots of fun. Unfortunately, you'll probably also have negative reactions, like badmouthing for example. But, just keep going. Don't let the few bad experiences prevent you from enjoying the overwhelming positive experiences. Sometimes that's an eye-opening experience. The value of cross-disciplinary approaches to hoarding (see article 4) is that a more comprehensive understanding of the person in their hoarded environment can be shared when professionals with different service identities communicate with each other. Though each community provider may have specific goals in the assessment process, everyone, especially the person with lived experience of hoarding, benefits when different perspectives are respectfully shared to provide comprehensive information. To accomplish this, community providers can determine the severity of a hoarding situation using some of the assessments described above. They can also use discipline-specific assessments. For example, elder service providers who are assessing how clutter influences the life of an older adult may use measures unique to their professional orientation with the elderly that are not specific to hoarding. Below we refer to assessment tools that are of particular relevance to community staff members in assessing the presence and impact of clutter. These tools may also be helpful to people with lived experience of hoarding, their family members, and professionals in clinical settings. Hoarding Interview When community providers visit the home and observe the physical space, they can gain an understanding of the causes and impact of the accumulated stuff by conducting a semistructured interview about hoarding with the person.
If we can create a welcoming environment for our confusion and our confusiety, we can learn how to flow gracefully between work and rest and learn how to make room for creative impulses. Note: If your confusiety doesn't shift in response to these practices, and you have regular difficulty organizing or focusing yourself (especially when anxiety is present), you may be dealing with a different and deeper situation of reduced or inconsistent focus (or possibly a traumatic situation in the past or present). An inability to focus and organize yourself may indicate some type of attention deficit or another issue that needs care; Sherry Olander, a DEI professional and instructor from Virginia, recalled becoming confused when her anxiety would spin problems over and over in her head. She realized that she had learned to work with her attention deficit as a young girl by repeating things over and over so that she wouldn't forget them. Her anxiety picked up this same habit, but instead of helping her remember important details, it would fixate on problems in disturbing and confusing ways. Though her anxiety was trying to help her figure things out, it felt obsessive and intrusive. In a situation like this, Conscious Questioning probably won't help, because the anxiety doesn't need any more input. Sherry found that using Grounding (and the sadness that supports Grounding) to help her let go of things that weren't working was a more useful practice. She also found that setting her boundaries and using anger to identify what she valued helped her anxiety focus on important things, and not on every possible thing. And like a hunter, you know how to cover your tracks and blend into the background. You're a keen observer and a patient study. Stealth and strategy is how people born under Cancer get what they want. The more attracted you are to a prize, the more you will feign disinterest--even pretending to be bored or brusque to throw people off the scent. Like the crab, Cancers approach their prizes indirectly--starting off in a wide circle that grows narrower as you close in. This is what makes Cancers such great bargain hunters and collectors. It also makes you a natural for covert operations. But there is such a thing as being too good at blending into the background--so much so that people don't even know you're there. For instance, that person you're crushing on may have no idea you even care, that buyer you're waiting on to make the first move may be waiting for you, or you might be so low key in your job interview that a prospective employer simply assumes you're not interested. It's times like these when you have to communicate what you're feeling or you really will get passed over.
This is why fish oil is recommended as the best source for omega-3s, although new sources from algae have recently appeared for vegetarians. Vegans and vegetarians have significantly lower levels of DHA in their bodies, which is a cause for concern. Supplementing with flax oil alone has shown increased EPA levels but not increased levels of the more important DHA. When obtaining fish oil in capsule form, it is preferable to buy molecularly distilled products, to ensure that no mercury or other heavy metal contamination is present. Look for equal amounts of DHA and EPA. While this is an expensive supplement, remember, there is no better financial investment than your own brain. Many capsules are 1,000 mg (1 gram), and although the U. The ratio of EPA to DHA ideally is 1:1, however, if you have high inflammatory levels (based on high-sensitivity C-RP blood test, over . Green tea contains polyphenols, the most powerful of which is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a type of catechin. Green tea's polyphenols have been shown to increase neurogenesis, BDNF levels, and to have strong health benefits ranging from cancer prevention to fat loss, plus cardiovascular benefits, immunity improvement, and glucose reduction. HIP READERS: ONE MORE WAY TO ACCESSORIZE Many women freak out the first time they have trouble reading the back of a bottle of Advil. After all, losing the ability to see close up is a sure sign you're not a kid anymore. Slipping on a cool pair of readers is better than digging out a magnifying glass when you need to read tiny mouse type. Standard, over-the-counter readers come in various strengths (1-3) known as diopters. I started off needing a 1 and am now up to a 2. When you can no longer see clearly with a 3, it's time to see your eye doctor for a stronger prescription. Please don't settle for the crummy-looking generic kind you find at the drugstore checkout counter. Forget about those half-glasses, the Benjamin Franklin-type specs that sit on the edge of your nose or those connected by a raised nosepiece over the frames. Instead, buy full-frame readers that are so fun you'll never want to take them off.
Simply put, mindfulness meditation refers to mental training exercises that train your mind to concentrate on your experiences in the present moment. The idea here is that you turn off your mind from focusing on everyday chatter and concentrate on the present. Practicing mindfulness meditation calms down the mind as you only focus on the present during the period when you're meditating. How to Meditate First things first, find a quiet place where there are minimal distractions. You can choose to do this indoors or outdoors as long as there is little noise coming from the surrounding environment. If you prefer doing this indoors, ensure that the lights do not distract you. During the day, draw your curtains and use natural light. Another important consideration that you should bear in mind is that you should choose to meditate when you're free. Don't do this when you are in the middle of something important. See this light moving through your body to the top of your head and the tips of your toes and fingers. You are absolutely glowing with this beautiful colored light, with your love and your healing energy. Let your whole body vibrate with this light. Say to yourself: With every breath I take, I am getting healthier and healthier. Feel this light cleansing your body of dis-ease and allowing vibrant health to return to it. Then let this light begin to radiate out from you in all directions, so that your healing energy touches everyone who needs it. What a privilege it is to share your love and light and healing energy with those who are in need of healing. Let your light move into hospitals and nursing homes and orphanages, and into prisons, mental hospitals, and other institutions of despair, bringing hope and enlightenment and peace. Let it move into every home in the city in which you live. Wherever there is pain and suffering, let your love and light and healing energy bring comfort to those in need.
