Begin loving yourself now--and do the best you can

YOU'VE PROBABLY REALIZED by now that there are very few boundaries in my work. I want to talk about all aspects of menopause openly, and that includes all the juicy goodness about your Queen V. Menopause can do a number on your vagina and related parts, leaving many of you struggling with erratic periods, vaginal dryness, strange smells, incontinence, and painful sex. As if that weren't enough to dampen your sex life, shifting hormone levels also step in to hammer your libido. Serotonin is known as the feel-good hormone, because it contributes to our sense of well-being and happiness. As well as affecting our mood, serotonin plays a role in regulating appetite, digestion, sleep, and sexual desire. Unfortunately, our guts also harbor plenty of bad microbes, microbes that create inflammation, contributing to anxiety, depression, weight gain. The good news is you can swiftly change the mix of microbes that live in your gut by changing what you eat. In the next article, I will show you how. Before that, though, we are going to look at other tried and tested ways to help you sleep better. I'm going to take you through a typical 24-hour day, showing you lots of things you can do to improve your sleep hygiene, including how to establish good bedtime habits, how to define your optimum sleep window, and how to use mindfulness and breathing exercises to ward off the anxiety and negative thoughts that are the enemy of a good night's rest. A note of caution: If you have mild sleep problems, then putting the following recommendations into practice will help. But if you have proper insomnia, they won't be enough. To properly reboot your brain and cure insomnia, you will probably also need to do a short course of sleep restriction therapy (see article 6). Instruct the children to sit on the floor with their legs crossed in front of them. Close your eyes. I want you to listen to the sound of your own breathing and my voice. You may let every other distraction fall away from you. You have no other responsibilities, and nowhere else you are supposed to be at this moment. Take a few deep breaths before we begin.

Allow the world to just melt away as you exhale. You are letting go of more and more tension. Your body is becoming heavy, where it touches the floor. Take a big breath in and hold it for a count of four before releasing it. It is, rather, a collection of problems that ultimately cause the mental devolution of a person suffering from the illness. This collection of causes result in an illness that affects the dopamine and acetylcholine levels in one's brain and causes a miscommunication between the cells in the brain. Researchers have been studying cognitive illnesses that affect people, but there are still many questions that haven't been answered yet, and thus far, there aren't any cures for these illnesses yet. There are medications that people can take to slow the onset of symptoms, but treating the symptom isn't the same as treating the illness. The best way to truly treat the illness is ultimately by slowing its progression with a healthy lifestyle change. The reason why this is important is that dementia is a developing illness and will cause extreme debilitation if left untreated. People that develop dementia will ultimately struggle to take care of themselves and will require personal care and assistance practically all the time. This can put a lot of strain on relationships and can ultimately end in irreparable emotional harm to all parties involved. Ultimately, if one does develop this type of cognitive illness, it will progress. The greatest danger in the beginning stages of dementia is to ignore it and pretend like it isn't happening, because that is valuable time being lost when you could be altering your lifestyle. Those that use optimistic imagery, satire, or creativity are the best mnemonics. To help recall a particular segment of knowledge, come up with a rhyme, poem, or joke. Rehearse and elaborate To boost recall, rehearse details. You need to code what you are learning into long-term memory in order to remember information. One of the most powerful methods of encoding is known as an elaborative rehearsal.

Reading the definition of a key term, studying the definition of that term, and then reading a more detailed explanation of what that term means would be an example of this technique. You'll probably find that recalling the data is much easier after repeating this process a few times. Concepts of visualize You are using visualization for memory enhancement. The facial expression of fear is often mistaken for a surprise. Although both expressions show raised eyebrows, the brows of a fear expression are straighter and more horizontal, while, by surprise, they are arched and curved. The upper eyelid is also raised more by fear than by surprise, exposing more sclera (whites of the eye). Finally, the lips are tight and stretched with fear, but more open and loose with surprise. Vocal Expression Of Fear When experiencing fear, one's voice often has a higher pitch and a tighter pitch. You can also yell. Sensation Of Fear Common sensations include feeling cold and short of breath. It can also include sweating and trembling or muscle tension in the arms It's time to rearrange your thinking and change your perspective to change your life. You can focus on your past actions or claim a new outlook. A positive attitude doesn't mean ignoring life's troubles. It just means you're looking out for the positive, rather than focusing on the negative. An old mentor of mine use to say, Being positive doesn't mean you don't have negative thoughts; Psychology Today offers excellent advice on rebounding from the regrets of your past: It's time to rewrite the story you tell yourself.

Don't make the past your present. You can't make yourself forget about the past, but you can choose how often you allow yourself to dwell on it. If you let your past define you, you're limiting yourself both in who you can be and what you can experience in the future. Your life is what is happening to you right now. Just as taste buds have a very valuable purpose, so does fear. It's the emotion that alerts us to danger, by triggering the fight or flight response. If we block out that response with alcohol, we're leaving ourselves vulnerable. CHECK YOUR INSTRUMENTS Imagine a pilot flying over a mountain range in cloud. He knows he needs to fly at a certain altitude to avoid the peaks, and he gauges his altitude by looking at his altimeter. If he looks at the altimeter and sees he's flying too low, he may feel a momentary surge of panic but he will respond quickly and pull the plane up to a safe height. The altimeter is his constant gauge of danger from the mountains and as long as it keeps working and he keeps responding to it, he will remain safe. But suppose the altimeter malfunctions. Its little warning light that flashes when the plane drops too low stops working. Here, the audience are going to be tuned to the show and any advert aired at that moment are going to be related to cancer. Just in case the marketing team decides on airing a given product related to dietary. Most likely, the negative side of the merchandise will impact the viewers' attention. However, for a sensible advertiser, such a show commercial break should be the getaway for advertising life assurance. People are made aware that death exists, and therefore the possibility of dying with cancer is extremely dominant. The advertiser will intrigue a sense of fear, the vulnerability of the disease and therefore the desire to measure a far better life despite the disease.

Moreover, the audience are going to be manipulated to require the premium to hide the family in order that they are doing not fall culprit of the agony of not taking the duvet. The last episode before the break will impact the audience to require the initiative of taking the insurance protect the family and themselves. They're persuaded towards the action and its appeal to them at the proper time. Furthermore, the airing commercial at this moment for a non-health product are often a more horrible marketing strategy to the consumers. The best practice is to keep emails as short as possible without sacrificing important information or detail. There is room for style in emails. Because we are all so accustomed to communicating digitally, we tend to think of email correspondence as conversation. Be aware, therefore, that in email communication, a degree of informality is both expected and tolerated more than in a telephone conversation and much more than in a business letter. While this means that spelling and punctuation errors are more readily forgiven in email than in other written correspondence, always take the time to proofread and correct yourself. TIP: Aim to make your email messages seem both spontaneous and correct in grammar and spelling. This combination reflects well on you and your background. Because of the similarity between email and conversation, you may find it helpful to picture your correspondent when you write an email. You may even want to speak, either out loud or in your head, when you compose an email. Do not, however, let the analogy between speech and email go too far. The surgeon just cleaned up a bit of scar tissue and then sent him over to me for treatment. After several weeks of treatment, we were able to eliminate his pain, regain his motion, and improve the strength in his shoulder, which allowed him to go back to work and provide for his family. Does this mean your MRI always lying to you or that you can always avoid surgery by getting physical therapy? No, not always. The shoulder is complex, and there are times when rotator cuff surgery is necessary. There are many factors that must be considered when assessing the shoulder.
