Listen Your Way to a Better You

This act is usually told to be the reality. I'm not going to tell you to just whistle while you work and everything will be fine, but your practical, daily tasks will have more impact if you begin here. STEP #1: REMEMBER WHAT MATTERS The Lazy Genius Way hinges on first remembering what matters. If you start anywhere else, you're starting from the wrong place. By remembering what matters in any task, you can easily see what's essential and what's not, what you can do now to make things easier later, how your season of life is affecting the task, and any number of Lazy Genius principles. Always start with what matters. A CRASH COURSE IN PERSPECTIVE Assuming you might still need a little help naming what matters, especially concerning annoying things like chores, here are some ideas. Tidying up isn't picking up your family's mess over and over again because they're ungrateful animals and you have to do everything. Tidying up is making space for a new, purposeful mess. Coaching Exercise--Fail Forward We need to learn how to think of failure differently because the common perception is so negative. A rule we have in our confidence workshops is to high-five each other and say something like, You rock! The reason we do this is to get girls to think about failure in a new way. When we make a mistake, it's an opportunity to learn something in an accelerated, fresh way. We typically pull our posture down in frustration or embarrassment, but high-fives open up our bodies, expanding them to help us feel more confident! You can also try thinking of mistakes as the two words: my and stake. What is a stake? One definition is something you can gain or lose, like in a game or contest.

Have you ever heard the phrase What's at stake? In a complex has allowed patients suffering from anxiety to recover and with new strength to meet the possibilities of this life. My husband decided to consult a doctor, who concluded that I had general anxiety disorder. I received treatment in parallel with regular yoga practice and meditation for 6 months. And today, I feel like I'm born again. My thinking has changed, I am more centered, and I have a belief that no matter what happens - all for the better. The future no longer scares me! Yoga has given me this power. Each of us can lead a life full of confidence, free from fear. The brain is made up of billions of nerve cells (neurons) that move a constant stream of information from one to another. Chemical messengers in the brain known as neurotransmitters transmit signals between neurons. Neurotransmitters play a crucial role in emotional health, are involved in brain functions, and also help in the functioning of the human body. The abnormal brain circuits identified in bipolar brains are believed to cause certain neurotransmitters in the brain to be dysfunctional (WebMD, 2019). Neurotransmitters Scientists have identified serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine as the three prevalent neurotransmitters involved in mood regulation, stress responses, pleasure, reward, and cognitive functions such as concentration, attention, and executive functions. When the levels or density of these neurotransmitters are not at a normal level, the result can be the manifestation of bipolar disorder (WebMD, 2019). Serotonin is a brain chemical that is connected to several body functions such as wakefulness, sleep, sexual activity, eating, learning, impulsivity, and memory. Any abnormal rise or fall in the serotonin levels of the human brain can lead to mood disorders, which elevate medical conditions such as bipolar disorder (McIntosh, 2018).

Dopamine has consistently been linked with the part of the brain that controls the human pleasure center. STEP 5: Explain why you cannot. This step is the most important of all. STEP 6: Put the request in perspective; STEP 7: Express your hope that your refusal will cause no great hardship or disappointment. STEP 8: If possible and appropriate, suggest an alternative. TIP: Be careful! In suggesting an alternative, beware of volunteering others to satisfy the request. Promise only what you can deliver. STEP 9: Offer rational hope. Are there conditions under which the request might be satisfied at some future time? When someone looks up and to the proper, they're utilizing their imagination or in other words, fabricating information to offer to you. This is often taken as a lie. After asking an issue pay close attention to the person's eyes and which direction they move. The eyebrows also tend to boost once they are telling the reality and have a tendency to blink or close their eyes tons to steal time for them to rethink their lie and confirm that their story is kept intact without having to betray themselves through the eyes. Most of the people that lie also tend to avoid eye contact with the person they're lecture. When forced to form eye contact, they often feel uncomfortable and should even come short of words making the opposite person now that they were trying to mislead them. When an individual is telling a lie, they have a tendency to often blush. They become nervous thereby creating a rise within the blood heat, especially round the face area. Blood tends to flow within the cheeks thereby causing the liar to blush or recoil.

Although blushing are often stimulated by a few of the many other things, it's almost certain for a liar to blush. Changing the sheets isn't creating a visual upheaval of every single room. Changing the sheets is offering the comfort of climbing into a clean bed. Exercise isn't something you have to do to get thin and be accepted. Exercise is the liturgy of tending to your body and releasing stress. Doing laundry isn't a referendum on how in control of your life you are. Doing laundry is a chance to refill closets with clothes that help you and your people feel comfortable and express yourselves. Cleaning the kitchen isn't enduring an endless chore. Cleaning the kitchen is clearing space and stocking cabinets and drawers with food and tools to create connection around the table. Pulling weeds in the yard isn't a punishment (except when I was a kid and I told a lie). Pulling weeds is an opportunity to make room for your favorite flowers to grow. What are the stakes? The stake you stand to gain or lose in any failure is a lesson. You can either gain that lesson or lose it. Again, it's a choice. Growth-mindset people learn from their mistakes and gain a lesson. Next time you make a mistake, ask yourself, What is my stake? Coaching Exercise--Model and Celebrate Failures You can model failing forward to help your girl embrace it, too. If you want to teach her to value it for real, start by sharing with her where you have failed.

Tell her how you overcame whatever it was and what you learned from that experience. The following yoga practices will help calm a restless mind. Abnormal dopamine activity in individual's brains may explain the symptoms of bipolar disorder (Newton, 2009). Norepinephrine plays a role in cognition, mood, emotions, movement, and blood pressure. Imbalance in norepinephrine causes difficulty concentrating, fatigue, anxiety, apathy, and depression (Dutta, 2019). Research on Bipolar Disorder Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a brain-imaging technique that has been used to measure the monoamine density of cells that release the brain chemicals dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine (Chugani, 1987). By performing PET scans in areas of the brain in which monoamine-releasing cells are concentrated, an approximate 30 percent increase in density of these cells was found in the brains of bipolar people even when not having symptoms (Evidence of Brain Chemistry Abnormalities, 2005). The altered brain chemistry due to excessive monoamine cells directly affects cognitive and social functions. Studies continue to determine which kinds of monoamine cells are involved in producing serotonin and norepinephrine.
