Looking into a Glass of Water

AA is the language of the heart, which heals with its humor, acceptance, lightness, and willingness to heal the past. The healing, then, proceeds out of step 5 and is expressed in restitution in steps 6-9, which are really the reparative steps. In those steps, the person takes responsibility to actually do something in the world to repair any damage that is repairable and to mend whatever fences can be mended so it is not just a mental intellectual exercise. To the best of one's ability, one goes back into the world and tries to repair the damages that have been done to the degree that they are repairable. In this article we're going to look together at some of the things that may be currently holding you back. There are many reasons for not going after what we want, but the one we all know best is fear. The Big Fear You may be afraid to gain what you want. Success can stir up our biggest fears. For each one of us, the Big Fear wears a different form, shaped by what has happened to us in the past. It might be abandonment, loneliness, punishment, or disapproval, to name just a few. When we give up and back off from our dream, we may unconsciously breathe a sigh of relief at having eluded the Big Fear yet again. If you have repeatedly backed away from your dreams, it is quite likely that you have been avoiding the Big Fear. The Big Fear is what we feel when we come up against the wall that blocks us from our original motivation. For instance, using the Major Method, you can memories the number of sets and reps you complete. In your Memory Palaces, you can also rehearse the material before and after your tai chi session. Or you can use Recall Rehearsal to recite foreign language vocabulary or any of the meditation verses if you like to memories instead of gobbling down world news while on the treadmill. When on the stationary bike, during your high-intensity interval training breaks, you should do the 4-detail exercise as you watch other people. The greatest ways to reduce stress, improve memory, and control the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is physical exercise. The onset of defects associated with a rise in brain age has also been shown to be delayed.

It is a win-win to integrate physical exercise with the routines you will complete in your head. And since your mind is created by your physical brain, it is certain that integrating physical and sensory mental exercise will maximize your overall health and cognitive skills. Choices for brain games are abundant, from pen-and-paper Sudoku and crosswords to advanced brain training applications. In order to enhance mental functioning and avoid brain aging, people of all ages use these games. The healing then becomes real in one's life and relieves the guilt about what one has done in the past. Step 10 says that taking responsibility for the content of one's own consciousness and having the willingness to clean it up becomes a way of life on a daily basis. The daily inventory makes note of what was lacking in integrity, where one could have done better, and where one could have been more loving. Step 10 is owning responsibility for the process of spiritual progress and committing to it as a way of life. Step 11 is interesting because it says if one has thoroughly done steps 1-10, one will reconnect with something that was sought in the first place through drugs and alcohol. It says that prayer and meditation will increase conscious contact with the God of one's own understanding, asking only for knowledge of His will and the power to carry it out. Notably, step 11 does not say begin; It occurs through internal surrender and honest commitment to lovingness as a lifestyle. One connects with God through the heart because that which is Divine, that which is God, and that which is Love are all the same thing. By commitment to lovingness as a lifestyle, as a way of being in the world to the best of one's ability, one reconnects with some rock-like, joyful inner experience that is similar to what one sought through alcohol and drugs in the first place. Emotional pain and fear built that protective wall for us in childhood, and we can be very reluctant to break through it. We don't want to be brought back into contact with the painful or frightening thing that made us give up our motivation in the first place. We do not realize that as adults we may still be protecting ourselves from childhood fears that we now have the resources to overcome easily. A successful and accomplished friend of mine once told me: `'All this good stuff is coming into my life, but the feeling I'm having is exactly as if something bad is about to happen. It is the biggest irrational fear there is: if I get what I want, something terrible will happen. Your Big Fear is as unique to you as your fingerprint, but it probably falls under one of these types of fears:

You might fail and expose your deep inadequacies, shamefully revealing that you do not have what it takes. You might suffer a huge loss. You may die. You may contract a life-threatening illness. Brain training can help develop your memory, reaction speed, and reasoning skills, although research indicates that it is difficult to correlate brain training games with enhanced cognitive function. Try these games and activities that can boost your mental concentration and health if you would like to give your brain activity and have fun too. Sudoku is a placement game for numbers that depends on short-term memory. If you put a 6 in this package, that one must be an eight and this one a 4, and so on, you have to look ahead and follow paths of consequences to complete a Sudoku puzzle. This method of preparation helps to enhance short-term memory and attention. Online, on an app, or on paper, you can play Sudoku. Look in your newspaper for a daily Sudoku, purchase a article with a set of puzzles, or download a free phone or tablet app. Sudoku puzzles have different degrees of difficulty. Play simple games when you start out before you learn the rules--using a pencil if you are playing on paper! One of the most developed brain conditioning and mental fitness services is Lumosity. Step 12 reveals what the whole addictive process is about and what its nature is in the field of consciousness. Step 12 says that having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, which affirms that becoming conscious is a result of the entire addictive experience. Those who have followed the process with integrity and dedication now have the capacity to carry this message to others and express it in every area of their lives. The 12th step says that the whole purpose of the addictive process was to awaken them and move them up from one level of consciousness to another; This precludes putting the source of happiness outside of themselves. Instead, they realize that the source of happiness is the same as the source of life and comes from responsibly owning oneself as a spiritually aware person.

Addictions are progressively fatal diseases, and the only way to recover from them is to become progressively spiritually aware and more conscious. Life itself depends on becoming conscious via major self-confrontation with something that each person's Higher Self has chosen that will force them to grow, because there is no turning back. The only options are to surrender their will to God (that which is Higher than the ego), or go insane and die. There is no reprogramming of the brain cells once they are programmed. Someone you care about might die. In other words, your fear tells you that you'll pay dearly for becoming a truly individual self who wants to leave home and start his or her own life. These fears are exactly what our unconscious mind serves up when we approach the forbidden arena of what we really want to do. Visions of humiliation and tragedy are laid before us in our daydreams and weaken our resolve. Often this is blamed on God or fate, as we encounter this primitive part of our mind. If we are going to push past our fears, then we have to take a good look at what this ancient, eye-for-an-eye part of the brain is threatening us with. It's crucial to realize the childhood origin of our fear. It originates in the insecurity of a child who did not feel it was safe to grow. Many people never get to the Big Fear stage, because there are so many effective defenses to prevent you from getting that far. For instance, you might feel bored or uninspired. To play three games a day, you can sign up for a free account or select the subscription service for more deals. Either way, you can keep track of your performances and development. The enjoyable brain training and mental health sports, assessments, and exercises at Lumosity are validated by research. On the website, you can play them or download the free iOS and Android apps. Lumosity now has a mindfulness and meditation app called Lumosity Mind. Crosswords are a classic brain teacher, accessing from several aspects of information, not only verbal language but a memory.

There are several ways, both online and off, to conduct crossword puzzles. If you get a regular newspaper, there's almost always a crossword for you. Or pick up a crossword article that is explicitly suitable for your ability level and interests. Online or through free or cheap applications, you will also find several choices for crossword puzzles. Once someone is into the addictive process, they are on a tightrope and there is no turning back. There is only confrontation with owning the truth about oneself. Recovery depends on accepting that process, moving joyfully into it, and being grateful. THE HEALING POWER OF A LOVING GROUP The energy field of the 12-step groups is Unconditional Love (540). The way out of the pit is to be concerned about someone else. We get higher with every act of love, every loving intention, and our willingness to forgive self and others. Unconditional Love is not an emotional up-and-down feeling that depends on someone else and what they do or don't do. Love does not come from someone else into us. Love is an inner decision we make about a state of consciousness that we want to choose all the time. You may feel guilty and resolve to give up this foolishness. And you might never realize that the purpose of these reactions was just to protect yourself from going too far. It is a very positive sign if you have managed to become aware of this fear consciously. It means that you have pushed your comfort zone past the point of old defenses, rendering you much more open to growth than you were before. One point to emphasize here is that big steps forward in our development often confront us with anxieties about death. Fears of heart attacks or illness, breathing problems, or a morbid preoccupation with one's mortality are just a few of the symptoms that can pop up when a person is getting close to making a big shift toward growth.
