Know your worth. In a short, stressful situation, this is not a problem. With constant stress , the body loses its reserves and is exhausted when it matters. The Consequences of Stress Stress can have adverse effects on your mood, but also your body and mind. Stress symptoms include: Irritability To be unhappy Digestive Problems Lack of focus or motivation Forgetfulness This mental illness causes unusual and dramatic shifts in mood, energy, and the ability to think clearly. The mood of someone who is bipolar rotates between polar opposites: at one end of the spectrum are highs (mania) and at the other end are lows (depression). The most identifiable bipolar symptoms are these polar mood swings, each of which can last anywhere from days to weeks. Not everyone's symptoms are the same, and the severity of mania and depression can vary. Some people have mixed states in which they feel both mania and depression at the same time (WebMD, 2020). Bipolar disorder can affect a person's energy level (Legg, 2019), judgment (Gibbons-Gwyn, 2009), memory (MacGill, 2019), sleep patterns (WebMD, 2019), sex drive (Connell, 2019), and self-esteem. Bipolar disorder has also been linked to anxiety (Cirino, 2019), substance abuse (Cerullo, 2007), and health problems such as diabetes (Woods, 2015), heart disease (Mcquillan, 2019), migraines (Bledsoe, 2010), and high blood pressure (Nauert, 2018). You may be asking yourself: What doesn't bipolar disorder affect? A common misconception is that people believe themselves to be bipolar due to experiencing the everyday ups and downs of life.
The difference in being bipolar is that these feelings are experienced in a much more drastic and dramatic way. STEP 8: Be specific and avoid issuing blanket or generalized criticism. Cite specific issues and incidents. STEP 9: As far as possible, quantify your criticism objectively: Turnaround time in your area is a good 15 percent more than we need it to be. STEP 10: Maintain your perspective. You are both on the same team; Be friendly. STEP 11: Always address issues, never personalities. Resist the temptation to tell an errant employee what you think of him. Focus on the issue. TIP: If necessary, focus on a particular negative or harmful behavior--just be sure it is a behavior in a certain circumstance or set of circumstances. They're faced with a dilemma: Go through the rest of their life believing they're missing out, or find out for sure. Sadly, the only way to do that is to drink again. If they do, they find that their stress is not relieved--in fact, it's increased by their sense of disappointment at having giving in to temptation. But they've revived the Little Monster and the outcome is that pretty soon they'll be drinking just as before. THE MOMENT OF TRUTH Soon you'll have your final drink and make a solemn vow never to drink again. If this thought makes you panic, remind yourself of these simple facts: Take a moment to compose yourself. Do you really have any reason to panic?
Nothing bad is going to happen as a result of you stopping drinking. I have a carport and a vacation fund and have never had to give up dinner so my own kids could eat. I have the luxury of crafting a meaningful life, of thinking about how many cardigans I want to own. I live with great privilege, and you might too. You also might not. Our individual abilities to choose are affected by issues like marginalization, abuse, trauma, and bias. I grew up in an abusive home, and choice wasn't always part of the equation. Not to be a downer, but it's an important thing to acknowledge. Yes, we all live with choice, but some people have an easier path to implementing those choices than others. I simply want you to know that I see that reality and I see you. Yet no matter the shape and speed of our lives, we all long for meaning. Whatever changes you make, keep your health and well-being in mind. Methods included in this article are dedicated to clearing neurological illnesses such as memory problems, depression, anxiety, brain fog, and migraines. While family history and other things beyond your control may make you more susceptible to developing these issues, you are responsible for your own fate. Do not take any of these neurological issues lightly, for they can be signs that more diseases, some of which are incurable, can come out of this. Through regularly choosing foods in the western diet, such as high fructose items, synthetic sweeteners, and gluten, we can destroy our livers and eventually devastate our body's systems. When our stomachs are unhappy, our brains are equally as unhappy. Over time, we risk developing illnesses such as cardiac arrest, stroke, and high blood pressure. These adverse health effects damage the quality of blood that filters to the brain. Additionally, choosing nutrient-barren foods does nothing to help our system of neurotransmitters or the body's messaging system.
While it may be easy to change our diets, it can be harder to change our environment. Decision-making difficulties Lack of creativity Humorlessness Persistent Stress can also affect your behavior toward others. Outbursts of anger or social withdrawal occur. Overeating or abuse of alcohol, coffee, or other drugs is not uncommon. Teeth grinding happens during sleep. What Happens During Meditation? During meditation, you come into a relaxation mode . Regenerating processes in the body are stimulated. Some people alternate between extreme episodes of mania and depression, but most are depressed more often than they are manic. People with bipolar disorder may also go for long stretches of time without symptoms. However, the condition is usually cyclical, so be prepared for it to worsen and then improve at times. For those of us who live with bipolar disorder, this means accepting that mood swings and episodes of mania or depression will always be a potential challenge for us (WebMD, 2020). My dad was bipolar in the extreme but never admitted it or took medicine to control it. He would become manic and be high as a kite for several weeks, usually heading to Las Vegas or Atlantic City to gamble heavily. During his manic periods, he was busy managing his bar business, playing poker, attempting to start other businesses, and enjoying life. These periods of mania were essentially the driving force behind his success as an entrepreneur. They also backfired through causing him to gamble large sums of money in careless ways.
I remember the positive factors associated with his manic episodes most. Be specific. STEP 12: Combine as much praise as possible with the criticism. You might observe that, in general, you are pleased with the subordinate's work, but that, as regards Issue A, an improvement needs to be made. STEP 13: Limit your criticism to what can realistically be changed. It does no good--and may do great harm--to criticize a subordinate for something over which she has little or no control. STEP 14: Address one issue at a time. Avoid bombarding the subordinate with a cluster of faults and problems. YOUR SCRIPT: GIVING CRITICISM TO SUBORDINATES Here is an example of constructive criticism: YOU: Mary, I liked the way you handled that customer's complaint. You have only wonderful gains to make. Perhaps you're afraid of going into unknown territory. There is nothing unknown about what you're about to do. It's something you've already done thousands of times before, every time you've drained your last glass at the end of the evening. This particular drink will be a very, very special one. It will be your last. ALREADY STOPPED? If you stopped drinking before you started reading this article, that's fine, provided you're confident that you have killed the Big Monster and you have no doubts whatsoever that you're not making a sacrifice or depriving yourself in any way. It's still important that you make the vow.
