What attracts and builds your success without any time, energy, or effort? Your reputation does that. Your reputation is not a fake image that you hire some marketing corporation to fabricate but rather the real genuineness of your endeavor, which shines forth and is evident to everyone in everything that you do. Some companies' very names or labels evoke a warm feeling in us because they have proved themselves over time to provide a product or service that is well crafted, trustworthy, and unique, with reliable and responsive customer service. There are no familiar landmarks and even where you have come from is losing its form in the mist as you look back. You are literally in a state of suspension. This is what transition feels like and this is why the uninformed and unsupported often turn back at this point. In the gap nothing feels the same as it did before. Old pleasures may seem hollow, while a new way of living has not yet materialized to reassure you. You feel like you are hovering over an abyss25. Why does anyone keep going when new terrain feels this uncertain? Often it is because he or she has had the convincing experience. The Convincing Experience The convincing experience is something I finally recognized after years of trying to get people to make healthy changes in their life. Close your eyes after looking at the flame for some time and try to imagine the flame's position in your mind. S urprisingly, there is a link between meditation and memory. Research demonstrates that the physical structure of the brain is altered by meditation in surprising, beneficial ways-including enhancing concentration and memory. So what is the relation between memory and meditation? Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston demonstrated in one study that daily meditation causes the cerebral cortex of the brain to thicken. According to the study, thickening occurs because the size of blood vessels and blood flow in the area is enhanced by meditation.
Higher mental functions such as learning, concentration, and memory are responsible for the brain's outer cortex, so this is an incredible discovery. The purpose and structure of the mind are directly influenced by meditation, altering it in ways that seem to increase attention span, sharpen concentration, and enhance memory. To change your brain by meditation, you do not need to be a monk on a mountain top. Research has shown that mindfulness meditation practiced in many Western countries is effective in causing the cortex to thicken and improving focus. Their reputation is the effect of a positive-energy ABC. Whereas most corporations calibrate around 200 (the same as government bureaucracy), these companies calibrate in the 300s, indicating their resonance with human emotion (rather than mere functionality). The ABC that we hold in mind is the magnet that has the pulling power, and it costs nothing. If you are doing a good job, people will search you out. That does not mean you should not let them know that you are there and what services you have available, what your specials are this week, and what your hours are. It is an old axiom in business that a satisfied customer is the best advertisement. Everyone nods and says, Oh yes, I know that, and then they proceed to ignore it. A good rule of thumb to go by is to ask yourself whether the temptation to take a certain shortcut is worth the risk of ruining your business. Consider the seemingly unimportant cutting corners example of yesterday's doughnuts. At the close of the day you still have a dozen doughnuts left. As I mentioned before, early in my career if I tried to persuade some of my therapy clients to try something new, most of my suggestions usually hit the floor like lead weights. After all, it looked to my clients like I was pushing them toward that scary, rickety, blowing-in-the-breeze bridge for absolutely no good reason other than I thought it would be good for them. If I encouraged them too strenuously, I found they usually left therapy. I was a slow learner. Gradually, after having a few convincing experiences of my own, I discovered that if the person was ready to grow, they would soon have an experience that would make them run onto that bridge. The convincing experience occurs when the old way of living becomes totally bankrupt.
Life as you know it suddenly does not work anymore. All the old ways of coping hit a wall, and you cannot go on in the same way. That is when we are ready and willing to try the gap. Actually, at this juncture we are willing to do anything. It is also known as the meditation of awareness or insight. The benefits of meditation are far-reaching, and a number of inherently beneficial effects that meditation can have on the nervous system have already been reported by researchers. So, inevitably, many of us wonder if one of those extreme advantages is better memory. And that's the answer, YES! It has been verified by a number of studies carried out by neuroscientists that there is a strong correlation between meditation practice and improved memory. While some of the better-known studies centered on studying Tibetan monks' brain functions as they meditated, to discover meditation, you don't have to be a monk or nun. Virtually everyone can put mindfulness meditation methods into practice and reap the benefits, including enhanced memory and ability to concentrate, including teenagers, seniors, and anyone in between. For memory meditation One study performed by Boston researchers showed that regular meditation appeared to improve the brain cortex of the brains of their subjects. Mental functions such as comprehension, attention, and memory are dealt with by the cortex. The next day you put them in the glass case along with today's doughnuts. If instead you had said YESTERDAY'S DOUGHNUTS with a little sign that shows the discount price, you would sell them all and not take any risk to your business if the doughnuts were not completely up to snuff. The customer would not have any complaint because they were plainly marked yesterday's doughnuts. If you put them in the showcase, however, and sell them as today's doughnuts, you may make an extra dollar. But when the customer complains to the family--I don't know; They're a disappointment;
That family has friends and other relatives. Never take a shortcut that is going to impair your reputation. If you just assume that your customers know what is going on, then you will be right. People in fact do just know, even though they cannot say what it is. Suddenly it is too awful to stay on that old path any longer, for even one more minute, so you grab those ropes and sink your feet onto those gyrating boards beneath you. Any place has got to be better than what you just left. The road behind you might as well be on fire. Sometimes the convincing experience is a happier event, a wonderful fleeting exposure to what could be. You might have a transcendent experience that catapults you briefly up to a new level, where you linger just long enough to get a taste of its reality. It might only be a moment, but it can redefine your life and give you a goal that heretofore you had not known existed. This is what happened to Jody. Soul Dancing Jody's story is an example of how a seemingly small moment can transform a person's goals for life. Jody had the convincing experience of being transported from one level of life to another. Regular meditation enhances the flow of blood to the brain, contributing to a better network of cerebral cortex blood vessels and strengthening memory ability. One research conducted by a respected cognition journal revealed that meditation improves memory and attention if meditating for 20 minutes a day. Meditation training can improve different cognitive processes, such as regulating emotions, executive control, and focus, particularly sustained attention, according to a study cited in the Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Journal. There are simple methods of meditation that seem to be associated with enhanced memory, cognition, and discernment. For example: Mindfulness meditation
Mindfulness is a method that helps us to become conscious of our thoughts, sensations, and emotions in a profound, non-judgmental way. Mindfulness allows one to concentrate on one single issue at a time and cultivates a profound sense of gratitude for the present moment. Research has shown that the density of the hippocampus, a part of the brain related to memory and learning, is enhanced by mindfulness. Among meditators who engaged in an 8-week meditation regimen, it also enhanced self-awareness, self-examination, and compassion. Rationalizing a departure from quality originates from force in such quotes as What they don't know won't hurt them. That is true. What they don't know won't hurt them, but it sure will hurt you! They will not know it consciously; This is true in every area of life. STEP 6: RELIABILITY Offer consistency and reliability. One of the greatest ingredients of success is people knowing that they can count on you in various ways. A simple thing like changing your hours, such as closing early, can lose all kinds of customers. They value convenience and respect for their time. Jody was a widow who had taken care of those she loved all her life. Now approaching middle age, several years after the death of her husband, she was feeling lonely but had no desire to go back to the kind of marriage that she had with her quiet, unambitious husband. For Jody, there was not much to recommend getting married again. She had always been saddled with making all the decisions. One evening, Jody met a new man at her dancing class. They talked and she felt an instant connection.
