Why does what you do matter?

Not to mention that silver is so distracting in contrast to your newly white teeth. When you get frustrated it might be the start of quitting your goal. And because it keeps you from what you want, you have to start afresh later and do it all over again. If you do not curb your frustration and exercise patience, it becomes a habit that keeps you from achieving success. Positive people exercise patience. While waiting in a queue, they keep their thoughts focused in the moment and not on how long it is taking to get to the end of the line. What happens right there around them is what they experience and act on. If someone's eyes meet theirs as they stand waiting in a long queue they will smile and politely greet them. As they move slowly forward they enjoy looking at what people do, what they say, look like and what their body langue conveys. They will start conversations with other people in the queue creating a friendly and warm atmosphere, minimizing people's frustration. At work they exercise patience and calm when co-workers get upset about a possible negative outcome. As we've learned earlier, problems with hippocampal regulation are widespread in the modern world, and weakened hippocampal function underlies anxiety, depression, and cognitive decline. Stress or fear is when there is a known danger, and the intensity is usually proportional to the threat. Anxiety, however, can come out of nowhere and feels disproportionately strong. With anxiety it's hard to identify the threat. Anxiety is future-oriented. Gestalt therapy was the first to point out that two things happen when someone feels anxiety. First, the person jumps into the future (mind). Second, the person holds their breath (body). In jumping into the future, the person leaves the present and starts to catastrophize about worst case scenarios.

Sometimes these are conscious, while other times they are implicit, a vague foreboding of something bad happening. Skilled nursing facility (SNF)/nursing home A skilled nursing facility/nursing home normally offers the highest level of care for aging adults outside of a hospital. They are designed for those who need around-the-clock, 24-hour care. Continuing care retirement community (CCRC) The CCRC is a relatively new type of senior housing. It is designed to allow your loved one to remain within the same community but move into higher levels of care as their needs change. They are also most often situated in peaceful surroundings. Depending on where you live, this type of housing can be the most expensive long-term care option for your loved one. In most cases, residents are required to pay a large entrance fee, then a monthly fee after that. In some cases, residents buy the unit but still pay a monthly fee for services. The memory center of your brain, known as the hippocampus, can produce new cells throughout your lifetime, which is what gives your brain the tools it needs to hone your memory skills. These tools are based on the lifestyle you live, which is a great news since it means you can change your daily routine to improve your memory! The foods you consume and don't consume play a vital role in how good your memory is. Fresh vegetables and healthy fats are crucial as you avoid carbohydrates and excess sugars. Brainpower foods: Walnuts, cauliflower, broccoli, celery, and curry have compounds and antioxidants that protect your brain's health and help to produce new cells. Garbanzo beans, crab, red meats, blueberries, and healthy fats are amazing foods for better brain health. You also should increase your intake of animal-based omega-3's and reduce your consumption of damaged omega-6 fats that are in items such as vegetable oil. When you get moving, you are encouraging your brain to work at its optimum capacity since it stimulates the nerve cells throughout the body.

That allows those cells to multiply, become stronger, and form connections that keep your body and brain from becoming damaged. Encourage the child to decorate the mirror: glue pretty pictures around it, add glitter and sparkles to the frame, cover it in a riot of color. With your child, take turns looking in the Magic Mirror and saying wonderful things about yourself. Write down the positive statements you and your child say, so you can repeat them when you do your morning mirror work together. Your Heart Thought for Day 20: I Communicate Openly with My Children It is vitally important to keep the lines of communication open with children, especially during the teen years. So often children are told things like Don't say that. Don't do that. Don't feel that. Don't be that way. Don't express that. Is at odds with: Cancer Suns. You were born under a full Moon if your Sun is in Cancer. That makes your Sun and Moon equal partners. The struggle is between family (Cancer) and career (Capricorn). Your ruling planet is the Moon, so you'll always choose career over family. You'll work long hours to put food on the table. Yet by not making time for loved ones, you may discover they haven't much time for you later on. Reverse the trend while you can. A family is more than an obligation;

Is in the dark with: Capricorn Suns. Florida dentist Dr Martin Polin says he wouldn't replace silver fillings merely for cosmetic reasons -- the chances of hurting the tooth are too great -- but if you have to replace fillings for another reason, by all means go white. Even Julia Roberts, poster girl for best smile, has silver fillings. When she was photographed at a red-carpet event with her mouth open wide, two celebrity magazines actually Photoshopped her silver fillings to make them white. If only we could do that in real life! HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW MAINTENANCE . YOUR WHITEST SMILE These three whitening treatments can all get you to the same level of white. So what do you have more of -- money or time? HIGH: In-office whitening is instant gratification. And like almost everything in life, it will cost you. Their peaceful and firm way of handling difficult situations calm tensions and emotions, helping everyone to think and function optimally. This ability is one of the requirements senior management looks for when appointing managers in their organization. Patience is not to be confused with laziness or complacency or even procrastination. It is rather the ability to carefully judge a situation in order to be able to make a thoughtful decision. Someone with patience has the ability to wait for something even when it is delayed. When they have to face opposition, persevere or encounter obstacles in their quest to achieve a goal, they do not allow it to frustrate them into surrender. Should anyone provoke them for any reason at all they take control of their thoughts, keep their cool and do not respond in anger. It is said that a moment of patience in a moment of anger saves a thousand moments of regret. Patience is also the ability to keep going under difficult circumstances and not allowing yourself to sink into despondency and depression.

Someone with patience will look for more valuable long term rewards instead of immediate short term rewards; In holding the breath and constricting breathing, the person reduces the flow of oxygen and disrupts the metabolic support needed for the situation. The word anxiety comes from the Latin angere, meaning choke or narrowing of the chest. Any kind of arousal or heightened excitement needs the metabolic support of oxygen to fuel it. If you stay with the situation in the present and let yourself breathe, you have the energy to rise to the occasion and meet the challenge. However, in anxiety you choke and hold in your breathing. This cuts off the metabolic support of enough oxygen. Without oxygen to support your excitement, it becomes anxiety. Gestalt defines anxiety as blocked excitement. The life force of the person rises up to meet a particular challenge, for example doing a performance onstage. The actor begins with stage fright, but as the actor gets moving and breathes into the role, this stage fright turns into excitement, energizing the actor and producing a vivid performance. It will be important to have an elder law attorney look over your contract to make sure you know what your loved one is signing up for. One question many of my readers ask regarding hiring in-home caregivers is whether they can help with giving medications. Home care workers can provide medication reminders and put the meds in your loved one's hands (provided that your loved one is aware they are taking meds). If your loved one can't put the meds in their mouth themselves, then the medication administration can be nurse-delegated to a qualified home health caregiver by a registered nurse (RN). If you are not sure what your loved one may need, check with their doctor. When Is It Time to Apply for Disability? My advice would be just to take each day as it comes and enjoy the blessings around you. My husband continues to work and I believe that it is the best thing for him now. He is using his vast knowledge about his work and it continues to give him a sense of accomplishment.
