Identify your three driving emotions

We can't just think of things while releasing resistance if there's stuff going on in our subconscious we don't know about (unless assisted by guided meditations and mantras with particular frequencies to drown it out) and we can't just try to feel appreciation, love, and joy if our hearts have some underlying fear either. Hearts have their own neurones and know when you're trying to fool them! If these blocks are apparent while we're trying to manifest our desires, it won't matter how hard we try to concentrate our thoughts on a subject or our hearts on happy, joyful, loving feelings that please us. It won't even matter if, as Buddhism teaches us, we try to stop, rise above, and detach from our unhealthy, attachment-causing thoughts and stabilise our unwanted emotions. All of this won't help manifest your desires until you feel at ease about your specific desire under the surface. The concept of thoughts creating things was supposed to be nothing but liberating and make us feel empowered to know that we can create on purpose. But, due to the Law of Attraction gurus who advocate that we are the cause of all the bad stuff that has happened in our lives, it can also make us fearful and create an aversion to the Law of Attraction. Who wants to believe we've been the cause of our demise thus far, or that when future things go wrong for us, it is because we forgot to think right, especially now that we know better? Who wants to panic that our unconscious thoughts are like time bombs, waiting to go off if we forget to remain mindful at all times? It's helpful for some people to think things happen for a reason, for a higher purpose than just to reflect our thoughts. The bottom line is you need to have a discussion with your kids about hotel safety before you go on vacation. Remember to pack a flashlight. A fire can knockout the hotel's electrical system and you might have to navigate hallways in the dark. Keep a flashlight handy or at the very least, download a flashlight app on your smartphone. Before you go to bed, put it on the nightstand so that it's easily accessible if there is an emergency. Never publicize your room number. You never know who is listening. The front desk staff at a quality hotel knows this and will hand you a room key in an envelope with the room number written on it. If your room number is announced at check-in or at any other time, always request another room. Locate the two nearest stairwell exits before you enter your room.

If you have not worked in professional environments, you won't understand what levels of professionalism are expected of you. You also may not understand how important professionalism is when it comes to progressing your reputation, growing your business and increasing your income. You will find it difficult to charge more or increase your products and services as your career develops if you aren't operating with a high degree of professionalism. Do you have a set of professional standards - a set of rules that govern how you run your business? These are very much like the personal standards that I shared with you in the Personal part of the article (you should have your own written down); Your personal standards are the commitments that you are making to yourself, and your professional standards are the commitments that you are making to your business and to your clients. If you've never seriously looked into professionalism before, it's doubtful that you'll know where to start. Here are some key areas for you to consider: What level will you deliver your coaching at? What can customers expect when they work with you? LENNY: No, I don't think there's anything I can do. PAULINE: How sad do you feel? Do you think you're feeling normal sadness over this? Or do you think this is affecting you too strongly? LENNY: I think I'm having a normal reaction. PAULINE: [having assessed no further work on this problem is warranted] Anything else on this? LENNY: No, I don't think so. PAULINE: Okay. I'm sorry this happened to your cousin. LENNY doesn't seem to be having distorted thoughts about this issue, he's not catastrophizing;

For example, if you have been in a great state of being all day yet attract a negative person around you, it could be because that person needed your light and inspiration. Or, life sent you a test to see if you are caring and attentive in difficult situations. But again, it can hinder us if we don't know why and begin to guess or question the injustice of things and why they were done to you. This can lead us to thinking we are at the whims of the universe. Some people still associate this with God or the universe individually picking us out for the perceived bad situation and it can leave us feeling like a victim, rather than a powerful being who came here to experience the Earth and all of its offerings, warts and all. Another thing that can confuse us is the concept of karma. The idea can be exaggerated with extreme Buddhists, as they think you will come back disabled if you've been evil in a past life. We fear that what we think, say, and do will come back and bite us. Don't get me wrong, science and logic prove that there's a cause and effect for everything, this is logical, but sometimes we receive an impact from some external reason. It's not all our doing, our interconnection has multiple effects on our lives. Review the map on the back of the door and locate two stairway exits near your room. If there isn't an evacuation map posted in your room, request one from the front desk. Then walk the route to the exits. Count how many doors you pass on the way there. Make a mental note of landmarks--such as trash cans, or vending machines. In the event you have to crawl through a hallway filled with smoke, the doors and landmarks will help guide you to safety. Finally, try each exit door and make sure it's unlocked. Decide on a family meeting place outdoors. Just like at home, your family may not be together in a crisis. Imagine the panic you'd feel if your spouse was at a meeting in the conference room and your teenagers were hanging out at the pool when the fire alarm sounded and you couldn't find them in the chaos.

What commitment will you make to your education? What level of results are you committed to achieving? What commitment are you making to your timekeeping? What commitment are you making to your personal presentation? How will you engage with your colleagues? How fast will you take action on your goals? It's important that you now take some time and reflect on your current professional standards. Even though you might not have taken time to think about them recently, you will be operating with subconscious standards. This means that you're doing things every day without being aware that you're doing them. You might be slow in replying to your clients, you might be late for your clients or you might know that you haven't been committing to your education. So we collaboratively decide to start talking about another agenda item, LENNY's goal to look for a new apartment, which does warrant intervention. PAULINE: You wanted to talk about maybe getting a new apartment? But just thinking about it makes me really nervous. I don't know where to start. Unlike the issue with his cousin, it was clear that investigating the possibility of moving was a reasonable goal and that we had enough time in the session to discuss what could get in the way and still have time for other important issues or goals. I help LENNY figure out what an initial step could be. We look for obstacles that could get in the way, and I do some combination of helping LENNY respond to cognitions that could derail him, solving problems, and teaching necessary skills. HELPING CLIENTS IDENTIFY A PROBLEMATIC SITUATION Sometimes clients recognize they are distressed but can't identify a particular situation or issue that is associated with their distress (or which part of a situation is the most upsetting). When this happens, you can help them pinpoint the most problematic situation by proposing several potentially upsetting problems, asking them to hypothetically fix one problem, and determining how much relief the client feels.

You didn't cause bad things with your mindless thoughts like you have some magical way of putting a hex on yourself. These concepts must be taken lightly and we must use our logic to navigate our inner and outer reality. We can only attract things into our life through our thoughts if we have feelings and emotions about them. Sometimes the world and the people in it disrupt our path; If we can find the good in the bad then great, if not, don't worry-- the experience itself will help you grow, learn, and toughen up. You can at least feel proud of yourself when you get through your life challenges. Even the simple saying like attracts like can trip us up! This doesn't mean if you have bad things in your life, that you're a bad person. If you have unwanted things in your life, you've not always created them or attracted them. If you're confused as to why you've attracted something you didn't want, even through a fleeting thought, then you were probably not fully responsible for its creation. Always agree on a family meeting spot during check in. Keep your doors locked and closed. Whenever you are in your room, secure the deadbolt and door chain. Always keep the balcony door and windows locked. If you leave your room even for a second, take your hotel key with you instead of propping open the door. If someone knocks, never open the door without verifying his or her identity through the peephole first. If the person standing on the other side of the door isn't a hotel employee, always communicate through the closed door. Never leave your valuables in the room. Nothing is considered safe in your room when you're not there. Take your iPads, wallet, and jewelry with you when you leave.
